Operators can set the position of the vehicle manually through the Position/Declination tab. As well, this tab provides functions for adding a bias to the vehicle heading. This bias may be a manual input or automatically looked up from a magnetic profile based on the current location.
(Note: The Declination Lookup feature requires a valid position. Unfortunately, it does not know if the current position of the vehicle is really valid. It will calculate the declination based on the value of the vehicle's current position as displayed in the workspace. If the vehicle's position is 0,0 (as if no real position has been provided) it will calculate the declination at 0,0.)
This tab provides a few useful features to operators such as copying the vehicle's position based on the ship's position or copying the vehicle's position from the system clipboard.
