The Signal Mapper is a fundamental and powerful component of the Greensea Workspace and your overall vehicle software architecture. The signal mapping page in the Greensea Workspace provides the operator a graphical front end for configuring the Signal Mapper. An understanding of your vehicle Control System architecture is required to make effective use of this facility.
The Signal Mapper monitors all channels and signals for operator-defined signal transformations. The page in the workspace provides the operator configurable assignment of physical controls to logical functions in addition to scaling of input/output values to or from more representative units. A range of transformations from simple inversion to scalable two-axis controls with configurable dead-bands are available. Any transformation may be chained with others to provide more complex behavior such as two-axis control with variable bias, stick locking and optional secondary or tertiary functions.
