To add a signal map, navigate to the signals (and plotting) screen and select the Signal View tab. Select the signal to be scaled. For example, a UI using a joystick may have an axial thrust signal. On the signal page, locate the channel (in this example it is JOYSTICK_STAT) and use the joystick to simulate the axial thrust. the output signal voltage measurement will display in the corresponding signal box. This value is mapped for axial vehicle motion. There are input and output signals and channels designated to hold the the values coming in and set. For example:
Input Channel: JOYBOX_STAT (All signals, Analog and Digital, from the from the Joybox are located here)
Input Signal: S_JOYBOX_AI_8_V (This signal controls +/- axial thrust)
Output Channel: OPENMNGR_CMD (This is where the scaled and mapped value will be stored)
Output Signal: U_VEHICLE_X (This is the signal that is broadcast)
Go to the signal mapping screen and click the Enable Editing button in the top left of the screen. Be sure the appropriate input, output and signal channels are populated. Click on the Advanced View button to show the transform. Use the actual value to set your min, max and deadband values and save. The signal is now mapped and stored.
