2.4.4.2 Mapping an Area There are many purposes for mapping an area. In general, the purpose is to develop a point plot of objects of interest or define regions and their associated perimeters for some type of habitat or physical characteristics within the area. Markers can be used to define both. Snapshots that include video and sonar data should be taken frequently. These can be geolocated based on the coordinates on the map view or in the video overlay, which can be included in the snapshot. Additional data such as temperature / location can be extracted using the CSV Export feature. This information can be used to map thermoclines or create contour maps. |
