Set Up Procedures

  1. Mount the inner clamps on the skid using the supplied screws.
  2. Place the Water Sampler in the clamps with the gradation marks towards the camera.
  3. Install the outer clamps using the supplied screws.
  4. Remove the 9 Pin accessory port dummy plug from the accessory port.
  5. Install the 9 Pin connector from the Water Sampler into the Accessory Port.

Do not overtighten the mounting screws. The mount is designed to have a gap between the inner and outer clamps. Overtightening the mounting screws can cause the mount to crack.

If you are using the Water Sampler with other accessories, it should be the last item plugged into the accessory port.

Use

The Water Sampler is operated using the manipulator buttons on the hand controller. To open the Water Sampler to collect a sample, press and hold the manipulator open button. To close the Water Sampler to expel a sample, press and hold and the manipulator close button. The Water Sampler will continue to open or close while the button is pressed, or until it reaches the end of its travel.

Fixed Sample Size

The Water Sampler includes a "Stop Block" feature that allows you to insert a stop block to limit the sample to a specific size. A stop block for 25 ml sample size is included. Stop blocks for other sample sizes can be ordered from VideoRay. To use the stop block, make sure the syringe is in the closed position. Remove the syringe from the body by removing the two screws at its base and pulling the syringe off of the fixed plunger. Insert (or remove the stop block from the threaded area nearest to the outer tip. Reinstall the syringe onto the fixed plunger. align the syringe and reinstall the screws.

Do not over tighten the screws.
